The Christian Business College presents an innovative new school model for the 21st Century, through a franchise-based “INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL” system. Below is an overview of our International School model for primary and high school grades:
Foundational Principles
Our focus is to grow young leaders, who learn how to live their life in close and loving relationship to God, through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We want our learners to live ABUNDANT lives: learning how to fulfill their God-given potential, while serving others in love.
We specifically encourage all our learners to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, whereby they may apply the enterprise development skills we teach, in every field – whether as future business owners or as employees within the public service, corporations or smaller enterprises.
Every learner who attends one of our schools will be given the opportunity to develop as a well-rounded individual, not only academically, but also through cultural, social and sport activities, as well as in practical, hand-on ways.

In addition, we help all learners to appreciate the importance of nature, the environment, as well as understanding the importance of choosing healthy nutrition and making positive choices in all aspects of life.

Of course we also place a strong emphasis on technology, including understanding and feeling comfortable with the advance of AI and robotics, with the view to encourage innovation and inspire our learners to develop solutions to address the societal and environmental challenges we humans still face.
Educational Approaches
Our key educational approach is to help all our learners to adopt the principle of lifelong learning. As such, we help our learners to learn “HOW TO LEARN“! In doing so, our focus is not on rote learning – although we encourage various forms of memory training and memorisation – but on understanding subject matter, analysing problems and developing solutions, in every field of study.
We place a strong emphasis on applied knowledge – i.e. ‘learning by doing‘ – and encourage practice until mastery, without placing undue pressure on performance. We want our learners to LOVE to learn – and as such, we expect our ‘educators’ to serve as ‘learning advisors’, who LOVE the learners full-heartedly and unconditionally, as individual artworks created by God, who loves each one of us. Based on many years of experience in the education sector, our founders and all the educational team members, know that relationships are paramount: learners who feel cared for by their educators perform better, because they feel safe!

We also encourage all learners to build caring and respectful relationships among themselves, so that no learner feels left out – no matter what! Social learning lies at the foundation of our school model, as much as we know that – ultimately – each learner needs to have the knowledge necessary to fulfill academic standards that are necessary for personal career objectives.
Learning methodologies
Based on the above, we help learners to learn through the following methodologies:

- Individualised online learning, with a wide range of curriculum choices. Learn more about the curriculum options by clicking here. Each learner learns at his or her own pace. This enables a flexible, personalised school-year calendar, based on the learners’ personal and family needs. For instance, learners can follow the local South African school calendar, or they can follow a Northern-Hemisphere-based school year, or any other personal learning calendar.
2. Social skills development through daily groupwork activities. These are integrated learning opportunity to apply transversal skills and knowledge, and are not curriculum-linked, or limited by age group. Instead, we make sure that there are mixed age-group teamwork activities. These activities help learners to develop positive relationships across cultures and age-groups or generations, increase emotional intelligence and enable each learner to feel confident in a leadership role, while understanding what it takes to be an excellent team player.

3. Practical skills development through task-based activities. Depending on the activity, this may be individual tasks or teamwork-based tasks. We want all learners to appreciate the joy of creating beauty through art, crafts, gardening and technical or physical skills, while also building lifeskills and self-confidence through activities such as basic building construction skills, camping, fishing, food production and preparation, nature appreciation and conservation, first aid, fire prevention and first response activities. Such activities and tasks will be age-appropriate and will always be arranged in consultation with the parents or guardians. They will generally not be curriculum-linked, and won’t require any ‘exam-style’ assessments, but will be graded in order to encourage optimum participation and enjoyment of a sense of personal satisfaction.

4. Spiritual Intelligence development through Bible study, as applied in everyday life situations. We will teach learners how to pray for themselves, their families and for one another, as well as for their countries and all leaders. We will help learners to understand the basic spiritual laws as explained in the Bible. We welcome all learners, regardless of religious affiliation, but it is important for parents and learners to understand that our schools are specifically designed to help learners to live life according to a Biblical worldview, which is often in conflict with current mainstream worldly perspectives. The basic foundation of this spiritual intelligence development is that we encourage learners to love God above all, and to love themselves and all other human beings in general and as such, to focus on building good relationships, regardless of cultural or other differences.
5. Individual gift development in the fields of art, music, drama and sport. This is again a unique opportunity for each child to choose which gift or gifts to develop in consultation with its parents and learning advisors. Personal coaches and tutors are appointed to help each guide each learner on their path to optimising their individual talent, using both online tuition, as well as practical activities. Learners have the opportunity to share their gifts during inhouse events, as well as through participation in local and even international events. Special emphasis is placed on this individual gift development, as an ‘antidote’ to the prevalent culture of focusing only on social media and gaming, although learners will have enough time after school during the week and weekends to enjoy these activities as well.
