From Adam to Dr Martin Luther: a timeline that has laid the foundation for Christian Education over 6000 years. And now, it’s OUR TIME to shape history!
Just for FUN, for those of you who love history or are just plain curious, here is a quick run-down of the history that has led to the establishment of the Christian Business College and its efforts to help shape the future through innovative new International Schools:
Surprise: God is the very First Educator!

When God created the Universe and had finished creating Earth and the first two human beings – a man, called Adam, and a wife for this man, namely Eve – he immediately blessed them (spoke good words over them), then started teaching them. And what did God teach them? In the first book of the Bible, Genesis, Chapter 1 – 3 we read that God taught them (and therefore all of us humans!) a lot of very important things. - Noah ‘got’ it: he understood what OBEDIENCE means: namely to TRUST God! Noah had SI – Spiritual Intelligence.
- Noah was the ONLY human being alive at the time who was faithful to God, and this means that he also taught his family to be faithful to God as well.
- Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch, who ‘walked with God’, and as a result was one of only two people in the Bible, who never died (!). He also was the grandson of the oldest man in the Bible, Methuselah. (Gen. 5:21-32)
- The Bible says that Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. (Gen. 6:9)
- He lived about 1000 years after Adam and Eve.
- Archaeology proves that society had developed in extremely sophisticated ways by then already. You can Google this.
- But humankind had degenerated into extreme violence. (Gen. 6:11)
- Also, human genetics were modified in ways that were considered ‘corrupt’ by God. (Gen. 6:4) It’s very helpful to follow Biblical teachings that draw on the original Hebrew context, to gain a better understanding of this.
- God deeply regretted that he had created humans! (Gen. 6:6)
- As a result, he caused a worldwide flood, to remove all humans who were participating in extreme violence and influenced by corrupt genetic modification. There is extensive archaelogical, geological and fossil evidence, as well as evidence in oral histories, that this flood happened.
- But Noah was OBEDIENT to God, and he built an Ark, based on God’s direct instruction, large enough to contain pairs of animals, as well as his own family. (Gen. 2:14-22)
- As a result, God saved Noah and his family! Genetic evidence shows that ALL OF US alive on Earth now, share one man and one woman’s genes: Adam and Eve… or Noah and his wife, Naamah…?

Abraham was another incredible teacher, who shaped history. How did he do this? By LIVING in FAITH, living in OBEDIENCE to God. His life’s story was initially transferred orally by his sons, Isaac and Ishmael, and then by Jacob (Israel) to his sons. His sons told his story, and the rest of the family saga to their children, grandchildren, and so on. Moses was a great-grandson of Levi, so also a great-great-grandson of Abraham. Moses is generally acknowledged as the guy who wrote down the family history, their relationship with YHWH (God) and all the knowledge God had shared with them. These are the five books of Moses, also known in Hebrew as “The Torah”. Abraham’s story of FAITH inspired the people he came into contact with and has since inspired people over the past 4500 years!
Because of Abraham’s OBEDIENCE to trust God, he has become the “Father Of Many Nations” – just as God promised he would! In fact, his TRUST in God was rewarded by God in such a way, that Abraham and his wife, Sarah, became the humans who are honoured by God as the Founders of “God’s Family” here on Earth. We who believe in God through Jesus Christ are also considered as members of God’s Family, being grafted into this family as adopted children – no matter what our culture or nationality! God’s Family is truly INTERNATIONAL! In fact, our International School model encourages all our educators and learners to become ‘rolemodels’, to teach others – not by speaking, but by BEING, DOING and BELIEVING in God – like Abraham did.
Joseph taught the King of Egypt to believe in God and to plan strategically

God calls us to BELIEVE in Him – and when we do, he works strategically through us, to establish the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN here on Earth.
The story of Joseph teaches us that – even if we are an arrogant teenager! – if we are FAITHFUL to God in a difficult situation, HE WILL BE FAITHFUL TO US! Joseph was rejected by his jealous brothers, then sold into slavery and ended up, quite unfairly so, in jail! He had to wait for thirteen years (!), before God created an opportunity for him to step into his purpose. Like with us – it’s never about God being too late, it’s always about us (or the people in our lives) NOT BEING READY!
But Joseph’s story has a happy ending: not only is he lifted into a position of utmost influence, as the Pharaoh’s ‘right-hand man’, he has the privilege of being ‘the one’ who helps to save a whole region from devastation through hunger! Also, he is finally united with his beloved father and little brother, Benjamin, and earns the respect and love of all his older brothers and their families.
He is BLESSED beyond measure, because his father Jacob chooses to give Joseph a ‘double portion’ of inheritance, instead of giving it to the firstborn brother, Reuben. Reuben lost his ‘firstborn’ status because of a grievious sexual sin! Jacob also furthermore blessed Joseph by blessing both of his sons, Ephraim and Manasse, in effect ‘adopting’ them. This results in Joseph’s descendants receiving two areas of land in the “Promised Land”, when the other brothers (all except the descendandts of Levi) only receive one receive one area of land. (Levi’s descendants were tasked with serving God and the other Israelites as Priests and lived in 48 cities and at the various Synagogues across Israel.)
Believers in Jesus Christ are always called to be SERVANT LEADERS, like Joseph: making sure everyone is OK – not just focusing on building own wealth and on the welfare of their own family! Jesus Christ, of course, is the greatest “Servant Leader” of all times.

Moses understood and taught Spiritual Law.

- God works through time, space and generations.
- Moses – like all Israelites – is a descendant of Abraham.
- Moses’ story is quite AMAZING! God prepared Moses (like he prepares each one of us!) in a very particular way to fulfill his purpose here on Earth. He was raised as a future leader in the house of a Pharaoh – the King of Ancient Egypt. God turned Moses’ ‘bad luck’ (evil situation) into GOOD (like he wants to do for all of us, if we love him and obey him by TRUSTING him!).
- God gave Moses Ten Commandments to share with humankind, starting with the descendants of Abraham, who we know as the “Israelites” (Sons of Jacob/later called “Israel”).
- Moses was teaching these Ten Commandments, as well as the various laws set out in Deuteronomy 5 to 30, the list of blessings (positive spiritual consequences) and the curses (negative spiritual consequences), when these laws are broken. All spiritual consequences eventually manifest in the physical (natural) realm.
- While the Ten Commandments are universally applicable, regardless of the time or age we live in, some of the other laws were only relevant to the time and culture in which they were given. For instance, those laws which are related to the animal sacrifices and ritual washings that were required, were fulfilled by the Son of God, Jesus Christ, through his sacrifice on the cross and through baptism into the Body of Christ. Other laws were related to general health and hygiene provisions, that were specifically relevant to the context of living at the time. But, as explained previously, the Ten Commandments are universally valid over time and cultures and turning our back on them, means turning our back on God in disobedience. This disobedience WILL cause the automatic triggering of curses in our lives, as taught by Moses.
- Most people don’t know or take it seriously that God has made it very clear that – if we love him and obey his Law, BLESSINGS follow for a thousand generations! But if we turn our back on him and disobey his law, CURSES are automatically released on us, our children, our grandchildren, our great-grandchildren and our great-great-grandchildren! (Exodus 34: 6-7). Many families keep on struggling in different ways, generation after generation, because they are living under, and continue to cause the release of, curses, because of spiritual ignorance or spiritual rebellion! (NOTE: If we believe in Jesus Christ, and start obeying God by TRUSTING him, all these ‘generational curses’ can be broken and blessings can finally start flowing!)
- Moses is also understood to be the one who wrote the Five Books of Moses, known in Hebrew as “The Torah”. These God-inspired five books probably have shaped more people’s lives, by influencing their worldviews, more than any other books in the world!
- The way in which God taught Moses to teach ALL the people of Israel ALL spiritual knowledge, is the key to the success of Jewish education across the world, even today.
- As an educational institution based on biblical teachings, the Christian Business College believes that keeping spiritual ‘secrets’ in the hands of a ‘spiritual elite’ is the reason why the Roman Catholic Church became a spiritually corrupt institution 500 years ago*, and why any group that calls itself a ‘church’, but where a leader has ‘special’ spiritual power, is NOT actually, a Christian (someone who follows in the footsteps of Jesus Christ) entity. Instead, our aim is to follow the instruction of God in the Old Testament and of Jesus Christ in the New Testament and to encourage ALL people, starting from the family, in the community, and all the way up to any form of other leadership, to LEARN spiritual truth in the Bible themselves. Moses didn’t keep the tablets to himself: he brought them TO THE PEOPLE!
* Many traditions and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church have changed since that time. It is not our intention to criticise any existing religious institution: each one of us needs to ask God for wisdom through the Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus Christ, to give us spiritual clarity on how to understand the his Word, as collected in the Bible.

Warriors, Women, Priests & Judges
3100 to 3300 Years Ago
WARRIORS: Every chapter in the Bible aims at sharing spiritual knowledge with us, and many also give excellent practical advice! Most chapters involve stories about people and their relationship to GOD. After Moses came two Warrior leaders: Joshua and Caleb. These two warriors teach us about being COURAGEOUS – not because we’re strong, but because we HAVE FAITH that GOD IS! Other warriors are Gideon and Samson, who both also were called to serve as JUDGES, after Joshua had died and the leading Priests had become corrupt.
PRIESTS: The role of Priests in the Bible changes over time and according to period. But generally speaking, the descendants of Levi were called to serve as Priests and as Servants of God, TEACHING the Law of God to the other Israelite tribes and preparing the various sacrifices. According to God’s “Divine Order”, we humans need spiritual instruction, so that we understand how to live our lives according to God’s Plan. Formal spiritual education has disappeared from modern society. This is one of the reasons for founding the Christian Business College, and the International Schools: to help children, youth and adults to gain SI – Spiritual Intelligence and to understand the role of the Holy Spirit as our TEACHER AND GUIDE.
WOMEN: The Old Testament also teaches us through Women leaders, sometimes not at all the kind of women whom we as humans would consider noteworthy. For instance, we read about female ‘entrepreneurs’ Tamar and Rahab, who – caught by their societal contexts – used sex as a means to survive. We humans may judge, but God sees the heart: both these women are FORGIVEN and rewarded for their FAITHFULNESS through giving birth to sons, who are known for being in the earthly royal bloodline of King Jesus!
JUDGES: The Judges in the Old Testament were called by God to play a leadership role over the tribes of Israel during a time of great crisis, when Israelites were suffering the result of disobedience to God, by not having wiped out all the nations who had previously been living in the “Promised Land.” The idol-worshippers were now influencing the Israelites to participate in their occult religious practices, instead of TRUSTING GOD. This was a truly chaotic time period! God’s “Divine Order” had involved His People (the Israelites) to live in close relationship to Him and to LOVE GOD so much, that they would be willing to ENTRUST their lives to him. That is what the Judges did! But again, as human beings – rebellious by nature – most of the Israelites turned their back on God, and suffered the punishment (enemy attacks!) released as a result…
